Use of service at your own risk
Bringbox provides a forwarding and shipping service from the UK to your selected destination. You use this service entirely at your own risk and accept full responsibility for the items you send to and through us.
Import laws, local regulations and customs compliance
It is solely your responsibility to ensure that your shipment complies with all import laws, requirements and restrictions in your destination country. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Fasah registration, for example in Saudi Arabia
- Personal import limits
- Permits or approvals from local authorities such as SFDA, MOH or MOI
- Any other customs registration, tax or clearance requirement
Bringbox does not provide legal or regulatory advice and is not responsible for the compliance, clearance or legality of your shipment.
Prohibited and restricted items
Bringbox provides general guidance on restricted and prohibited items. However, these lists are not exhaustive and may not always reflect the most up to date rules in your destination country.
It is your responsibility to independently check whether the items you are sending are permitted for import, and whether any permits or approvals are required. We are not liable for any consequences arising from the import of restricted items.
Medicines and prescription medications
The import, clearance and compliance of medicines and prescription medications in your destination country is entirely your responsibility.
Bringbox is not responsible for any delays, confiscations or issues caused by local customs, health authorities or permit requirements. You must ensure in advance that your medication is permitted for import into your country.
We highly recommend applying for an import permit or prior approval from the relevant health authority before shipping any prescription medication. While many shipments may pass through customs without issue, others may be randomly held for inspection and will not be released without the proper permits.
Detailed guidance, including permit links for your country, is in the guide inside your Bringbox account.
Retailer responsibility and inbound deliveries
Bringbox provides you with a UK delivery address for receiving your online orders. We have no involvement in your purchasing process and accept no liability for:
- Wrong items sent by the retailer
- Damaged, faulty or counterfeit goods
- Missing items or mis-deliveries
- Returns, exchanges, refunds or warranty claims
We do photograph received items for your reference, but we do not verify or validate items against your original order. We are not responsible for whether the product received is correct, complete or as described.
Review the photographs we send and tell us while your box is still open if something is wrong. Bringbox offers a managed returns service: items can be returned to the retailer from our warehouse for the fee published on our returns page. Any refund the retailer owes you remains between you and the retailer.
Customs, delays and courier handling
Bringbox has no control over:
- Customs inspections, approvals or delays
- Parcels being held, returned, confiscated or destroyed
- Courier performance, delivery timelines or damage in transit
Once your shipment has been handed to the courier and tracking is issued, our responsibility ends.
What you are paying for
Bringbox is a shipping service. You are paying for:
- Handling and consolidation of your UK purchases
- Packing your shipment into a box
- Courier dispatch and delivery to your destination
If you select DDP, delivered duty paid, we also collect estimated duties and taxes on your behalf and pay them to the relevant authorities. These amounts are estimates based on current import rules and declared values.
If the actual duties and taxes charged by the destination authorities exceed the amount collected, we reserve the right to charge the difference to your saved payment method. We will notify you when we do.
No refunds after shipment
Once your box has been packed and dispatched, the shipping fee is non-refundable. This includes situations where:
- Your items are returned by customs
- Your items are delayed or confiscated
- You no longer want the shipment
Shipping has been fulfilled, and our service is considered complete at that point.
Insurance and claims
If insurance is purchased, Bringbox will assist you with the claim process in line with the courier or insurer policies and timelines.
The final decision on any claim, including the amount payable and whether the claim is accepted or rejected, rests entirely with the courier or insurer, not Bringbox.
You must provide all required documentation, such as purchase receipts, invoices, packing lists, photographs of damage and any other evidence reasonably requested, within the deadlines specified by the courier or insurer. Failure to do so may invalidate the claim.
Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the shipment being accepted by the courier. Late claims will not be accepted.
Insurance is charged at £20 for shipments up to £799, and 2.5% of the declared value for shipments of £800 and above.
Where no insurance has been purchased, shipments travel entirely at your own risk. In such cases, any compensation is limited to the courier statutory liability under international conventions, which is capped at 8.33 SDR per kilogram of gross weight, regardless of the actual value of the goods.
Insurance does not cover exclusions set out by the courier or insurer, including but not limited to insufficient packaging, prohibited or restricted goods, leakage, normal wear and tear, or wilful misconduct by the customer.
Support and assistance
We offer support and guidance where possible, but we are not obligated to intervene with:
- Customs authorities
- Retailers or brands
- Courier companies
- Government agencies
We cannot guarantee outcomes and are not liable for issues outside our control.
Our only liability
The only situation where Bringbox accepts liability is if:
- We pack your order incorrectly
- We send you the wrong shipment
In such cases we will investigate and rectify the issue. For all other matters, from retailer mistakes to customs delays, you accept full responsibility.
Abandoned or unclaimed shipments
There is currently no storage deadline and no storage fee. Your box stays open for as long as you like, and nothing happens to it without you.
However, where a box has been marked ready and remains unconfirmed or unpaid for an extended period, typically 30 days or more, we reserve the right, after contacting you with reasonable notice, to: return the items to sender at your expense where possible; apply a storage or handling fee for continued holding; or, as a last resort, dispose of the items.
If we cannot reach you on the contact details you provided, we are not responsible for losses that follow.
Box consolidation and repacking
Bringbox may repackage your items to reduce size, remove excess retailer packaging, or comply with customs and courier requirements. We are not responsible for original boxes or packaging discarded during this process unless repack instructions are given in advance.
False declarations and undervaluation
You are responsible for ensuring that item values and descriptions are declared honestly and accurately. Bringbox is not liable for any customs penalties, holds or confiscations resulting from undervaluation, incorrect HS codes or false descriptions.
Dangerous or prohibited goods
If any item is found to be illegal, dangerous or restricted, Bringbox reserves the right to:
- Dispose of the item without compensation
- Report the matter to authorities, if required by law
It is your responsibility to ensure compliance before sending.
Changes to fees or terms
Bringbox may update pricing, terms or service features at any time without notice. The most recent version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Bringbox gallery and live showcasing
To help other customers understand what fits in each box size, Bringbox may showcase real shipments in our Bringbox Gallery or Bringbox Live content. This includes photos of boxes, contents and delivery images.
We only feature a shipment in the Bringbox Gallery or Live content with your permission.
All featured content is anonymous: no names, personal data or order references are displayed. To have yours featured, or to withdraw permission, contact support.
Who we are and which law applies
Bringbox Ltd, Unit 10 Newporte Business Park, Cardinal Close, Lincoln, LN2 4SY, United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Because we are a shipping and forwarding service rather than the seller of your goods, distance selling cooling off rights apply to the retailer you bought from, not to us. Your right to cancel a purchase is with them. Our service is complete once your box has been dispatched, as set out above.
Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to receive your parcels and ship your box: your name, contact details, delivery address and the details of the items you send through us.
We use it to identify your parcels, message you when they arrive, prepare customs paperwork and deliver your box. We share it with the courier and customs authorities where the shipment requires it, and with our payment provider when you pay.
Photographs of your items are held against your account so you can see what has arrived. They are not published unless you have agreed, as set out in the gallery clause above.
We do not sell your data. You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by contacting support.
