Shop & Ship, run by Aramex, is a big shopping network, with addresses in dozens of countries and a membership behind it. Bringbox does one thing instead: a UK address, free to join, where your orders gather into a single box at a flat price you can see while it fills. The right choice depends on what you want: addresses in many countries, or everything arriving together in one box at a price you can see.
What is the same
Both give you a UK address to shop with, both receive your orders, and both send them on to you internationally.
The differences are in what happens in between: whether your orders travel together or go one at a time, how fast it moves once you send it, what it costs to be a member, how the price is worked out, and how much you can see and decide along the way.
What is different
Five differences, and most of them come back to the same question: what do you actually know before you commit?
A box that fills, not parcels that get forwarded.
There are two ways a service like this can work, and they are not close on price.
Parcel forwarding moves each parcel on as its own shipment. Five orders means five shipments, five sets of shipping, five arrivals.
Bringbox fills a box. Every order you send goes into the same open box and nothing leaves on its own. Five orders, ten orders, spread over six weeks if you like, and it is still one box, one shipping cost, one arrival at your door.

Announcing its FLEX membership, Aramex listed rate calculation on 100 gram weight breaks rather than the usual 500 grams, and discounts on several services. Membership pricing has changed since that announcement, so check their site for current figures.You know the total before it ships.
Bringbox charges a flat price for a box size, with a weight allowance included. Your account shows which size your things are in, what it costs to send today, how much allowance is left and what the next size up would be. Adding one more light thing usually costs nothing at all, which is the point, and it is also why a nearly empty box is poor value.
On our prepaid destinations, duty and tax are calculated and settled up front as part of what you pay, so nothing is owed at the door and no separate demand arrives later. Elsewhere the carrier collects on delivery, and your destination page says which applies. How duties and taxes work.

Two working days, on DHL.
Once your box is sealed and paid for it goes out with DHL. Delivery takes about two working days to most of our destinations, and two to three working days to Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
The part that varies is before dispatch, and that part is yours: the box only leaves when you decide it is ready. Full transit times.

Every parcel is photographed the moment it arrives, free, without being requested, and the photo reaches you the same working day. Once your items are packed you get a photo of the box itself, so you can see the space you have left rather than guessing from a weight figure.
The point is not the photo. It is finding out the jumper is the wrong colour while it is still in the UK, where sending it back is quick and cheap. See exactly what you get, and when.
Nothing happens to your box without you.
Tell us how something should be packed before we process it and we follow it. Keep the shoebox, treat it as fragile, no prices inside because it is a gift.
When something arrives that cannot simply be packed, an item too large for a box or something that cannot legally travel to your country, it is not decided on your behalf. You are shown the options and the price, and it waits until you answer. And the box itself leaves when you send it, not on a schedule.

Where Shop & Ship has the edge
No comparison is worth reading if it only points one way, and there is one case where we are simply the wrong answer.
This is the big one. A Bringbox is priced by the size of box your things go in, and the smallest box costs what the smallest box costs whether there is a pair of contact lenses in it or nine kilograms of shopping. If you are sending one lightweight thing and nothing else is coming, paying by weight will almost certainly be cheaper, and you should do that instead.
Shop & Ship publishes shopping addresses in the US, the UK and dozens of others including China, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, India, Hong Kong, South Africa and Singapore. Each country is its own address rather than a single shared one, so parcels landing in different warehouses stay separate, but the breadth is real if your shopping is not only British. Bringbox is UK only, deliberately.

Which one suits you
Shop & Ship is the better choice for one-off, light parcels, and for anyone who shops several countries rather than just the UK. Paying per weight break beats paying for a box you have barely filled, and if you are already a member, you have paid the fee anyway and the extra countries are genuinely useful.
Bringbox is the better choice once things start gathering. By two or three orders, Bringbox is usually the cheaper total. A box that is properly full is much cheaper. Add to that knowing the cost while it fills, a photograph of everything without asking, and duty settled before it leaves, and that is what the flat price is buying.
The honest test is simple. If it is one thing and nothing else is coming, use them. If your shopping lands days apart, use us.

What is the difference between Bringbox and Shop & Ship?
Shop & Ship is a large Aramex network with addresses in dozens of countries and a paid membership. Bringbox is one UK service with nothing to pay to join, a flat price per box size rather than a rate per weight break, a photograph of every parcel without asking, and nothing is decided about your box without asking you first.
Do my orders travel together?
With Bringbox, yes. Every order you send to your UK address goes into the same open box and travels as one shipment, however long the orders take to arrive. Shop & Ship does not do this: its FAQ states that no consolidation of shipments is done and each shipment is handled immediately on receipt. That difference, between one shipment and ten, is most of what you will spend.
Does Shop & Ship charge a membership fee?
Shop & Ship runs a paid membership with more than one tier, including its FLEX plan. Check their current membership pricing on their own site. There is nothing to pay to join Bringbox and no subscription.
How is the price worked out on each service?
Shop & Ship prices by weight break, and its FLEX plan advertises rates calculated on 100 gram breaks rather than 500 grams. Bringbox charges a flat price for a box size with a weight allowance included, so the cost is visible while the box is still filling.
How fast is Bringbox?
Once your box is dispatched, DHL takes about two working days to most of our destinations, and two to three working days to Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Shop & Ship publishes 3 to 6 working days from all its origins, excluding customs clearance. The time before dispatch is yours either way, because a Bringbox leaves when you decide it is ready.
Is Bringbox good for one small item?
Honestly, no. A Bringbox is priced by box size, so the smallest box costs the same whether it holds a pair of contact lenses or nine kilograms of shopping. For a single light parcel with nothing else coming, a service that charges by weight will almost certainly be cheaper and you should use one. Bringbox earns its keep when several orders gather into the same box.
Is Bringbox cheaper than Shop & Ship?
It depends entirely on what you are sending. For one light parcel, no. For several orders gathered into one box, usually yes, and the fuller the box the wider the gap. Bringbox costs nothing to join and charges a flat price for a box size, so compare both against what you are actually sending.
Who handles duties and taxes?
On our prepaid destinations, Bringbox calculates and settles import duty and tax up front, so nothing is owed on delivery. Shop & Ship states that you are responsible for all customs duties on your packages and that it clears customs on your behalf on payment and collection of the required fees.
